Welcome to the New Edge Cougar Owners group page.  The New Edge Cougar existed from 1999 to 2002.  In the U.S. and Canada it was called the Mercury Cougar, and the rest of the world knew it as the Ford Cougar.  It came in two engine sizes, a 2.0 Liter inline 4-cylinder, and a stronger, 2.5 Liter V6.  The cougar was exclusively 2 door, despite sharing the CDW-27 platform with the Ford Contour and the Mercury Mystique.  The car shares many parts from the Contour, and the higher performance Contour SVT, making the Cougar handle better than many other sport compacts.  Its stylish looks still manage to turn heads nearly 10 years after its intial release.
